The Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made a big announcement for students who have scored over 65 and has announced a promise to provide students with laptops. The announcement was made on Wednesday, during the distribution of Honhaar scholarships. Government College Women’s University, Sialkot CM Maryam Nawaz said that the first laptop shipment is on its way, and she stressed that she selected the top laptops of quality for deserving students.

In her speech at an Honhaar Scholarship award ceremony on the campus of Government College Women’s University, Sialkot She announced that students who score above 65% will be awarded top-quality laptops. This is a sign of her dedication to promoting academic excellence and providing students with the necessary tools to prepare for a digital age.
The Chief Minister announced that her first delivery of laptops is already in the mail and assured the attendees that they are of the highest quality. “Every student achieving over 65% will receive a laptop, and I will personally oversee the distribution,” she said. The goal of this initiative is to close the digital divide, and to encourage students to do well in their academics.
CM Punjab Updated Eligibility Criteria for Laptop Scheme
1. Academic Performance:
- Merit-Based Selection: Students with outstanding academic records are prioritized. Generally, a minimum of 70% marks in Matriculation, Intermediate, or equivalent examinations is required.
- Public Medical & Dental Colleges: Minimum 80% marks in FSc/Intermediate.
- Federal/Private Universities:
- Sciences: At least 70% marks.
- Arts & Social Sciences: At least 65% marks.
- Public Sector Universities:
- Sciences: Minimum 70% marks.
- Arts & Social Sciences: Minimum 65% marks.
- Higher Education Department (HED) Colleges:
- Sciences: At least 65% marks.
- Arts & Social Sciences: At least 60% marks.Specific Academic Requirements:
2. Enrollment Status:
- Students must be enrolled in government-approved institutions in Punjab, including public schools, colleges, universities, and technical or vocational institutions.
- Applicable to students pursuing degrees in fields such as Computer Science, Medicine, Engineering, Business, Veterinary, Agriculture, and other related disciplines.
3. Residency:
- Applicants must hold a domicile from any district in Punjab.
4. Age Limit:
- Applicants should be under 22 years of age as of the closing date of the application.
5. Family Income:
- Family income must be under Rs. 300,000, verified through an affidavit.
6. Special Quotas:
- Students with Disabilities: A portion of the laptops is reserved for students with disabilities to ensure inclusivity.
- Minority Students: Specific quotas are allocated for minority students to promote equal opportunities.
- Students from South Punjab: 32% of the laptops are reserved for students from South Punjab to address regional disparities.
7. Application Process:
- Registration Period: January 1 – January 31, 2025.
- Application Method: Eligible students can register through their respective educational institutions by obtaining the official application form or online portal link, filling out the form with accurate details, and submitting the required documents.
8. Distribution Details:
- Total Laptops: 50,000 Core i7, 13th-generation laptops.
- 20,000 laptops for university students.
- 14,000 laptops for college students.
- 4,000 laptops for technical and agricultural institutions.

- Registration Closes: January 31, 2025.
